The economic crisis, linked to the health emergency, has hit the treasury of many people who have found themselves in difficulty.
This is what happened to Marcelo Siqueira, an 87-year-old retired professor who in his small town in Brazil, Curitiba, many recall as the professor who has always driven the same spot for 50 years, a classic 1972 Volkswagen Beetle, which has almost become a part of the family, which Marcelo is fond of as if it were a person.
Marcelo is also known in his neighborhood for having been a very good and interesting teacher of history and geography for 26 years, able to create a relationship with his students that went beyond pure teaching, but which was based on the building of a human relationship of esteem and confidence.
Due to economic problems, aggravated by the crisis, he was forced to put his beloved Beetle up for sale, now an old-fashioned one in order to move forward.
The news spreads in the neighborhood, many neighbors including some of his students see the sales signs and after having perceived the situation of their former teacher they decide to do a fundraiser to acquire the car, overhaul it, rearrange it and return it in perfect condition, with a surprise to the professor who now thought he had sold it, the return of the car was a truly moving moment, the teacher did not hold back the tears, while his former students holding him told him about the fundraising and the improvements they had made to the beetle.
