A “road” is defined as the area for public use intended for the movement of pedestrians, vehicles and animals. ” The road can be one-way or two-way and includes sidewalks, cycle paths and quays, as you can see from the figure above. It can be divided into several carriageways if separated by traffic dividers and each in turn can be divided into one or more traffic lanes.
As mentioned, therefore, each part of the road is intended for the circulation of different types of users. Therefore the area set up for vehicles and animals is the carriageway, the areas reserved for pedestrians are the quays and sidewalks, while for bicycles we find cycle paths.
